Care for Youth in Crisis

We are excited for the opportunity of partnership with FirstMed Health and Wellness Center, a nonprofit providing discounted health care for low-income and underserved patients.

As FirstMed opened its second clinic in Las Vegas Valley early this month, we had the exciting experience of teaching. TEP Founder Esther Rodriguez-Brown, who sits on the FirstMed Board, had the opportunity to speak to the center’s potential to serve in the Las Vegas community. We are particularly excited about FirstMed’s offering of preventative and primary care, behavioral health service and care for youth in crisis, including sexual abuse victims.

In our experience with at-risk youth & families, The Embracing Project has first hand experience with the necessity of these forms of care. This is a topic that Rodriguez-Brown honored to discuss in the presence of Sen. Harry Reid, Rep. Dina Titus, and former Attorney General and current U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto. We feel that continuing to inform and educate on those issues that effect our youth have the ability to impact our community in a big way.
